The bays and beaches around the Lands End peninsula all provide a range of opportunities for all forms of watersports - for both beginners and the more experienced.

Mounts Bay allows endless opportunities for sailing - whether small dinghies or larger cruisers - and there are occasional major championships held in these waters. For the surfer, the open beaches on the North Coast as well as Mounts Bay give chances of exciting experiences.

Diving has become more popular over recent years and there are a number of excellent dive sites, including shipwreck sites in, and around, Mounts Bay.

Swimming is naturally one of the most popular water-based activities and there are numerous beaches around the coast of West Cornwall, in addition to indoor pools in Penzance and St Ives.
